Fried rice is a dish prepared with cooked rice which is stir fried in a wok or a frying pan.

This rice is mixed with many other ingredients like vegetables, eggs, or meat. It can be eaten by itself even without any side dish.

Fried rice is first originated in China and later it become popular all over the country. It is one of the common street food in Asia.

There are many varieties in fried rice. Canton fried rice, szechewan fried rice and yin yang fried rice are some among them.

The color and taste of the fried rice varies according to the method and style of preparation. Now lets see how to prepare chicken fried rice.

  • 500 g Basmati rice
  • 250 g Boneless chicken Cut to small cubes
  • 6 Cloves garlic Thinly sliced
  • 1 Tbsp Soy sauce
  • 1 Cup Carrot Cut to small cubes
  • 1 Cup Green bell pepper Cut to small cubes
  • 3/4 Cup Cabbage Grated
  • 1 Tsp Vinegar
  • Salt As required
  • Pepper powder As required
  • Spring onion
  • 1 Tbsp Oil
  • 4 Egg


  • In a bowl add chicken and marinate it with pepper and salt. Refrigerate it for an hour.
  • In a pan add basmati rice and water. Cook it .
  • In a wok add some oil and add the sliced garlic and marinated chicken.
  • When the chicken get cooked add grated cabbage. Saute it well.
  • To this add carrots and bell pepper and mix them all well.
  • Add salt and pepper to this and mix it.
  • In another pan and some oil and add eggs. And scramble it.
  • To the veggie chicken mix add the scrambled eggs, soy sauce and vinegar. Mix it all well.
  • Finally add the cooked rice and mix it all well.
  • Top it with some spring onion.
