How to make Falafel
Falafel is a ball shaped arabic snack item. It is prepared with ground chickpeas. The main ingredient used is the chickpeas, other than that we use onion,ginger garlic paste, and coriander leaves. Falafel can also be made with greenpeas, which will look attractive inside when cooked.
Sometimes falafel is also used as a veg patty for bugers. The word falafel is originated from the arabic word filifil which means round shaped. Even though it is said as an arabic snack it is originated in Egypt. Falafel can be used in any type of food items like burger or shawarma. Even the McDonald’s company once served falafel roll as one of the breakfast item, which is named as Mcfalafel.
Falafel is one of the common snack and it is available in all streets of Arabian countries. This snack falafel has wide popularity. It is popular all over the world. Falafel is very good for kids it contain lots of vitamins and proteins. So here let me show you how to prepare tasty and easy falafel at home.

Falafel
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Chickpeas
- 1/4 Cup Onion Finely chopped
- 1 Tsp Ginger garlic paste
- 2 Tbsp Coriander leaves Finely chopped
- 1/2 Tsp Cumin seed
- 1 Tsp Salt
- 1/2 Tsp Baking soda
Instructions
- Soak the chickpeas in water for 8 hours.
- Strain out the chickpeas.
- In a blender, blend the chickpeas and all the other ingredients together, to form a tight dough.
- Make small balls with this chickpeas dough.
- Deep fry them in oil. Falafel is ready, serve it with tomato ketchup.
